Find an Oct. 1989 issue of Turning Wheels (the club publication). It addresses the '56 Sedans.

      1957 Transtar 1/2ton
      1963 Cruiser
      1960 Larkvertible V8
      1958 Provincial wagon
      1953 Commander coupe
      1957 President two door

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

        Welcome, Joey.

Click on the "Home" tab at the top of this page. Use those links to find vendors, manuals, technical information, Studebaker owners near you, history, or to join SDC and receive the monthly magazine TURNING WHEELS.

You can also pop any question you may have right here on the Forum.
There's also a "SEARCH" tab above, where you can look for subjects that have been discussed to death here in the past.

Here's the best read available from this site before you start tearing in to it.

One caution: This article states, "If you have a hill holder, take it apart and clean it." DON'T take it apart. Flush it, yes. Don't take it apart.

Welcome Joey. I also have a '56 Commander. But mine's a stationwagon. The picture in my sig. line is from the ad I purchased her from. Like Jim said, join the club. The membership cost is well worth the club newsletter which is in the form of a high-quality full colour magazine. This will provide you with many resources essential for the operation, repair, and restoration of your car. 'course, this website will also provide you with lots of people (like me) who love to run at the mouth (or fingers, that is).[)]
