With just a little work to correct the disclosed problems it could be a great car to take out on a nice summer day. Should have plenty of power with the 289".Tom Senecal Not enough money or years to build all of the Studebakers that I think I can.

Sebastian! Good to see you. I did notice the R-2 water manifold. The description states it has the R-3 exhaust manifolds too, all under a 62 period correct WCFB carb. It also says the car is not roadworthy but that may be to protect from any liability. A good road test by the new owner will show up any faults.59 Lark wagon, now V-8, H.D. auto!

Silly me I didn't read their description:
Mechanical: This Daytona was originally a six-cylinder model but is now powered by a Studebaker 289 V8. Engine number is for a 1964 259 V8, but it has a 289 crankshaft and dish-top 289 pistons. Engine has aluminum R2-style water manifold and intake manifold and R3-style exhaust headers. Valve covers are engraved with "Engine by Dan Zehr." Engine carries good oil pressure at idle (see pictures). Heads are casting # 1557570. Carburetor is Carter WCFB. Transmission linkage is loose and balky and in need of adjustment/adjustment. Overdrive is operational. Rear springs have helper springs added.

That '62 sure had a Lot of "upgrades", I saw an "Other Make" Rear Axle, probably a Ford, in addition to all the Engine upgrades.
Someone was on the right track to improve a heavy car's performance !
No wonder it has helper overload springs, it only has Three leaves and lowering Blocks !

I bet the new owner will be posting all that they found once it arrives. Lots of "personal touches" were done like painting the dash the exterior color. To me that is too much green without any contrast, but like I said, personal touch. The hole in the floor makes me wonder if it had a 3 speed shifter, but why was it taken out for what is described as a baulky shift that needs adjustment. At least the video shows it runs, just no speed shifting! Yes it looks like a Ford rear end, if it's a 9" that would be a big plus, but what ratio?
