  • Streamlined

With Bonneville Speed week currently in the news, I thought I'd cause a little trouble here by asking a question and stirring up some controversy. Which is more streamlined, a C/K Hawk or an Avanti? And then the Hawk vs Grand Tourismo vs 52-53. Let the infighting begin!!! Any other Studes in the running?

Stude C/Ks were considered streamlined when compared to a '53 Buick; when compared to a recent Camaro, not so much.

If you notice in the chopped versions of the C/Ks, the too-upright windshield is laid way back.

BTW, this is what a streamlined car actually looks like.

      Depends on the class.
Modified body class, or stock body class.
      (opinion)
      '53/4 C/K definitely more aero.
      '56/'64 Hawk... Not so much.
Avanti? Nose is good. Windshield angle hurts aero. Rear design hurts aero, too.

I can't believe that no one commented on the blasphemy of a 68-72 C3 front end on a Hawk!

I have seen that car before in a Youtube article I think.... The shock factor wasn't near as intense this time : ) Actually it really surprised me that they did it because I was thinking the original Stude with modifications like in the second pic was pretty aero from what I have read.

Even more so, when a C3 (and C2 even more so) is at normal ride height, they are known for front end aero lift at high speed
