    Sly Stone Dies at 82
Sly Stone, the visionary funk frontman of Sly and the Family Stone, died on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the age of 82. He passed away in Los Angeles, surrounded by his family, after a prolonged battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other health issues.

Sly Stone, the funk legend, is known for his association with a Studebaker, which has become a notable part of his story. He owned a gold '63 GT Hawk Studebaker, which was mentioned in several reports as one of the few remnants of his former wealth and fame.6 The Studebaker was often seen parked in front of the van where Stone lived when he was homeless.6 Stone had a particular fondness for his Studebaker, and it was even used in photographs where he posed with a silver military helmet and a Taser.7 Despite his financial troubles and the decline of his career, the Studebaker remained a symbol of his past glory.

And now Brian Wilson. (No Studebaker content with that, just a lot of memories.)

Sly passed without much....on the other hand Brian passed with a net worth estimated at around $100 million, quite a contrast. As Toby Keith sang " we got winners we got loosers, chain smokers and boozers" It takes all kinds.
