I have just seen pictures of a beautiful '48 Commander for sale at Barret Jackson. It says it is "Peacock Green," but it doesn't look even a little green. Anyone know if that is the correct color name?

If it is the same color as the car pictured below, then yes, that is the correct color known as "Peacock Green".
That same shade was used by other makers and even by Harley-Davidson, where it was called "Peacock Blue".
