I'm pleased to report that the restoration went as planned, it took longer than expected and exceeded budget.

That LOOKS very Original and Studebaker correct, but I saw that empty Case with rotted out Plates, so WHAT powers it Now ?

I am pretty sure you did not restore that for Display Rack.

Nice work but for me back in day battery lasted 2 to 3 years as did tires . If its correct color and size its good for me. Just my view on subject. Around here most replacement batteries were Sears or oil company brands such as Gulf , Esso

While tire performance and life have improved standard batteries have not. I recently purchased a new battery and it was $250+ for a 2-year warranty close to $300 for a 3-year warranty and those were the only choices. Back in the day, it was Sears Die Hard for my replacement batteries.

This battery is not functional I removed all the lead plates and yes it's going to be for display but in the car not on a rack or shelf. The battery that powers the car will be relocated to the trunk.

That is really cool. I always saw the offset battery tops in original factory material and wondered if that was just a glitch in the photo. I bought reproduction Willard Batteries and the tops always are in a row. You are saving history. NICE JOB!

Wow! I never thought about restoring a battery. My first thought would be somehow fitting a smaller battery inside the case to make it appear original -- kind of like the innards of a 9-volt battery.

                Great job!
