  • What ever happened to the hundred thousandth Lark built as a station wagon

I tried to hunt down this Lark wagon a few years ago. It was delivered to a couple with a letter from Studebaker and a wrist watch. Last I know it was in Arizona and maybe sold to someone in the Midwest. Any body seen this one around?.

    Nels,

I owned the 100,000th Lark. It is Tahiti Coral Station Wagon. It had an inscribed placard made of brass on the glove box stating you are riding in the 100,000 Lark. Richard Quinn provided the Studebaker magazine with an article on the Lark. Unfortunately, I took seriously ill and did not know what my outcome was to be. I sold it for a pittance to a fellow named Walt in Phoenix. I did have a title to the car.

I don't think Walt did anything with it. I think he was and is a wheeler dealer and that is the last that I know of the wagon.

My father who was a rock solid Studebaker Man was so excited when he received his copy of the Spotlight Magazine featuring the "100,000th Lark". He had just ordered a '59 Silver Hawk so we received the magazine for awhile.
He really thought there was a chance Studebaker might survive
