Hey Matt, I just noticed on the Bill of Sale that it was done on my 17th birthday. My family lived about 80 miles from Madison so it was close by but never thought of at that time.

That is just amazing and Beautiful Matt, good job !
Now it's time for the lucky owner to "destroy" ? that super low mileage!
Be sure to take lots of Photos of that Speedometer for Him/Her or recommend it ! I would print them and Date them for posterity.

It isn't going to be used as a daily beater or taken on any cross country road trips, but it's a car, and cars should be driven and enjoyed.

About 30 miles south of me, there's a very well kept collection of about 200 vehicles, and a large portion of them are "brand new", having never been titled or driven more than 5 or 10 miles. On one hand, I can appreciate the novelty of an old car that's still new. But on the other hand... They're just cars.

We took a tour of that place last Fall during the SDC meet we put on, and the only thing I could think about was how sad it was that none of those cars have had the chance to be used and driven. It seemed like such a waste of a lot of perfectly good vehicles.

They're just cars. Driving them is the fun part.

At least you are being honest and upfront about driving it. I have heard stories about disconnecting the speedometer and keeping a car "low mileage".

Matt - the tires look like bias ply's....... are they real bias or the radial bias ply look alike...... really a nice car.... I agree ... they were made to drive.... sounds like they are taking a very balanced approach... drive and enjoy but don't run the wheels off. Really a sweet looking example of a totally original Studebaker. Thanks for posting.

On the top left corner of the last Hamilton line sheet for the last 8 cars is the name of the line coordinator, the late Jack Holden. Just want to say what a wonderful man Jack was. Wish l could talk to him some more.

For the first time since the Harrah's auction 40 years ago, this car is going to be available on the open market. I've just finished taking photos and videos and submitted it to Bring A Trailer. Just waiting on their approval to get things moving.

A couple of months ago I contacted the National Automobile Museum in Reno. For a sizable donation they sent us a 50+ page binder of documents and photographs pertaining to this car, accumulated during the 20 years that it was owned by Harrah's. There are correspondence letters between Harrah's staff and Studebaker Corp, photos of the car taken when it was brand new, etc. All of this will be included in the BAT listing.

This car has a lot going for it. Low miles and unrestored, bought new by Bill Harrah with all of the paperwork to prove it, the third last Studebaker ever made...

                    Matt,

I can’t wait to see it up on the auction. Will you put a reserve on it? Studebakers have not been getting their expected prices on BaT lately. I am holding off on putting any on there for the time being. Good luck with it. It’s a beautiful car.

I am wondering if the Studebaker museum would be interested in this car. It certainly has a unique history and is essentially a new car.

It is my former car. A nice, 28K mile original. But of course, 28K miles ain't 253 miles!
