I know Plum is dark, but I'd be curious if you can discern the word "Plum" on the firewall. The turquoise car faintly has "TURQ" scrawled on the firewall.

According to my original notes and paperwork on the last car, Plum was originally considered, but crossed out and Timberline Turquoise selected.

A Much better choice for the Last Car, although they are both good looking, more people appreciate a Teal Green Color.

Here is the String in Post # 23 from 2023, that shows THE Best rendition in natural light I have seen of the true Color of these Plum '66's.
It has a bit more light than Matt's good Pic #1 in Post # 1 here.

Yes there was a '66 Plum wagon in my buddy's yard and I never got the serial number from that car as it was vandalized and later crushed!!!!!!! It had a power rear window as I recall that I wanted.

Sorry, that one is not even on the to do list, unless someone else see's value in a 230 Six, Overdrive '66 Commander, it will be made into Hyundai's.

If it wasn't so much work, I'd love to have an Overdrive behind the 230 in my '66!

Matt, one thing that stands out in my mind. My 66 Daytona Sports Sedan has the wide sill plate moldings while this car has the usual narrow ones that were used for years. Is this just because mine is a Daytona, hence a bit fancier, or???

The wider sill plates that were phased in later were only on the Cruiser and Daytonas, but were optional on Commanders and Wagonaires. Accessory ID - Studebaker Drivers Club Forum

I realized I never added photos of any of the paperwork.

Bill Harrah was the original owner. He bought the car, put it in his museum, and there it sat until it was auctioned off in the 1980's.

Now THAT is a Very Significant SURVIVOR !

It Must be THE BEST Condition and Lowest Mileage 1966 Studebaker in the World !
AND, bought New by the famous Harrah Collection.

I believe the Last Car, line number 8935, the beautiful Timberline Turquoise Cruiser was well used and repaired.

I have to wonder how Harrah's knew Smart Motors had the third-last car.

The second last '66, a Wagonaire, was also sold by Smart Motors to Harrah's as well. 👍 May be a coincidence that these two just happened to be near the end of production? 😉🤷‍♀️

I knew Harrah's had that dark green Wagonaire too, I thought second-from-last Stude, but for some reason I thought it was a NY or NJ selling dealer ("Tothill Auto Sales" is sticking in my head). My guess is that Harrah talked to someone at either South Bend or Hamilton and got the destination dealers for those cars.

The paint has been lightly polished and waxed. New tires, new brakes, tune up, oil change, rebuilt fuel pump, and a few other maintenance things have been done to make it drivable.

The tie rod ends, reach rod, and center bellcrank pivot still had the original plastic plugs in place; grease fittings had never been installed.
