I bought this from a member here last week, and rewired and installed today. I love it! β€˜51 Land Cruiser.

Nice! Not a fan of the funky air cleaner; yea, I know its the only thing "off the shelf" that will fit a tiny carb, but they garner no respect. Everything else looks great!

I had three singles on my six and, yes, used those but only as long as it took to find three "old school" scoops, that I later replaced with air filter assemblies I made. They were about 7" diameter. Sorry , no pic of the air cleaners I made, but here's one with the scoops. Sold the car, but I still have the engine and trans, I could dig it out and take a pic of the air cleaners if you're interested. I tend to make air cleaners a lot because I can't usually buy what I want , my VWs have custom air cleaner assemblies too (so does my tractor, and several motorcycles ), only smaller; but bigger than that "off the shelf" unit.

That little air cleaner is restrictive. Bigger was better for my car.

I got one of those for my Rockne with a single barrel Stromberg, and it restricted the intake to the point I couldn't set the timing. I would find an original to go with the 2-barrel.

Bruce's '51 is also missing the early '51 LEFT hand side Choke Heater Tube, can't see if it has the matching early '51 Left Side Exhaust Manifold.

No, it’s there Rich. I have yet to fire up the 232 after a 2 year restoration, thus the missing choke tube and incorrect air filter. I rebuilt this engine for a friend 20 years ago (😳) and when he restomoded his β€˜51 Starlight I was gifted the running gear, which had about 500 miles on the rebuild!
