WOW what a site.... I need another car like a hole in the head....but if you start looking...old 61hawk will be on there...Hey let's keep the vendors making money and keep this club alive. I like the descriptions that the "static display" of the vehicles has taken a toll.....so crazy how we love the cars to death! I love my car so I won't move it, so it rots the brakes, seals, lines, belts...you get my point. I drive my old gal and I drive her like I stole her.... she enjoys a good date night! Love the old cars. Happy bidding...don't bid agin me... !

Update: POSTED THE BELOW AS A NEW THREAD...JUST FOR FUN. REPOND THERE IF INTERESTED. (EDITED 6-5-24)
Not asking for anyone to tip their hand...but is anyone on this auction...that cares to comment? I was in trying to steal a couple but I'm out. I figure in brakes (complete and total) about $2,000 and that is my free labor: Now move on to belts, pumps, tires, gas tank, taxes, towing and ...I think it would take around $5,000 dollars to put a free car on the road that was stored inside and kept in nice condition...such as these "museum" cars. I'm just throwing the bull out there...what do you think....is there anything more expensive than a free Avanti or any old Stude for that matter? $5,000 says me to get them on the road...comments welcome.......Last edited by jg61hawk; 06-05-2024, 11:45 AM.

Is there a STUDE person in the vicinity who can look over the cars? I'm told this is the middle of nowhere. The Hagerty people are nice but I need someone to look over a car I'm considering. Please PM me if possible.
Thanks
Rob

Just a follow up…. I bought the aqua 1950 Champion. I have driven it about 3,000 miles since trailering it home from the auction. ( I wanted to check it out before driving a long distance). I drove it around Birmingham 300 miles before trailering it back to NM. The only thing I have done is put an electric fuel pump inline, due to vapor lock issues at 98 degree temperatures and city driving, ie stop lights. I do plan on installing a pertronix kit on the ignition. Since it tends to run on the hot end of normal, I’d like to put an aluminum radiator if I can find one that will fit. I can not speak for the other cars, but this one required nothing. Yes it sat for 5-8 years, and I took a chance, but was rewarded with a great driver at minimal cost. No $5,000 to make it roadworthy.
im not trying to pick a fight with anyone. Just stating the facts on this car.
respectfully
Guy

I have had a similar experience. I bought the 49 Champion. I’ve been re-working the brakes but overall the car was better than expected.
When I picked up the car, I was told Dr Peace bought the collection but never registered or drove them other than on his own property. I’m glad they are now getting out on the streets again.
