Has anybody ever put a bed liner in a Stude pickup bed? I’m thinking of the floor only variety and one that’s easily removable. The bed on my 2R5 is bent toward the back and I’m thinking of a low cost alternative to replacing it. Yes, I know not “original” but I’m thinking from a practicality perspective

Matt,Originally posted by mbstude View PostI had a '59 pickup when I was younger. Before I got it, it had a thick rubber mat covering the bed floor that had been there for years. All itth did was trap leaves, dirt, and moisture and cause the floor to rust out.
You must have been a teenager when you had that truck. You are still a young man, when compared to the rest of us.
I still try to think like a young man, but when I look in the mirror, there is no doubt I have reached "geezerhood" This is also confirmed by: 1. taking all day to do a 2 hour job 2. taking all day to recover from the aches and pains from the 2 hour all day job.
Cheers

Screw being original. its down to preserving what you have...Originally posted by AKR5 View PostHas anybody ever put a bed liner in a Stude pickup bed? Not really, heavy rubber will trap moisture under it and accelerate your rusting issues. If you do decide to go with the rubber, you'll need to get it cleaned and semi rust free and hit with a POR product.Originally posted by AKR5 View PostThat’s an idea
Bed liner is a great sound deadener. But if DYI, use a quality 2-part and practice your application stroke before you do it on the real thing. I used a SherwinWilliams 2-part bedliner that was tintable and had them supply the tint that matched the body color..
