  • fender skirt install

Recently bought a 1951 landcruiser. It came with fender skirts. Anyone know how to install them?

Do you have any pics of them? Particularly the back of them. I love fender skirts ! If your wheel covers don't fit tight or tend to move , remove them or the skirts when driving. You don't want to know what happens when a full wheel cover comes of under a skirt. I learned the costly hard way!

These instructions will apply if they are the original type that attach with screws. Courtesy of Russ at Studebakerparts.com

Is a larger version of this pic available on that site Mark? It's not readable here as it doesn't get any larger or more clear.

Sorry, I just saw this message today 2/28, my apologies! If you haven't discovered it already, yes, it is on Russ site. Search under fender skirts.

I bought some fender skirts and painted them for my yellow 1955 Champion coupe - didn't like that I had to drill holes in the fender. About 10 years later, I painted them green for my 1955 Commander coupe. I then found that they did not fit around the fatter wide white 205 75R15 tires. (original rims). Narrower 195 75R15s were hard to find... not sure if that has changed...

Since I have a bunch of 53 to 64s, I think they may be repainted again! However, most cars seem to have the stainless trim around the wheel wells and they won't fit. Foiled again...

2 SS sheet metal screws per side - 1 in front, 1 in back.
