  • 1956 Transtar 2E7 pickup, now with action-packed video!

I couldn't edit my initial post (Bought a 1956 Transtar 2E7 pickup today in Wisconsin - Studebaker Drivers Club Forum) for this truck, so I made this new post to share video of it.
Will it run? Watch the video for results.

    Brent,

Zowee! What a great truck. If you have too many trucks(?) you have many nice looking Champ trucks that you may want to sell me. As I recall, that was a deluxe paint scheme for 1956 based on Fred Fox's article on the 1956 Transtar trucks in Turning Wheels

Nice truck one you can be proud of owning.

      Thank you!

    Brent,
Congrats! I am amazed at little to no smoke. Check the H2O pump as it may have a grease zerk to lube it and that may stop the leak. Keep us posted as to your progress.
    Cheers,
    Bill
PS: It was nice to see your property when it wasn't white.

The ubiquitous Seaside and Norway green two tone. It seems just about every '56 I see two toned is this combo.

YES, that Paint combination and the Red and Black seemed to be THE most common with the Two Tone in '56.
But IMHO, the '57 to '64 Deluxe "C" Cab Two tone is MUCH better looking.

I like this color combination, but it looks a bit odd being there is no trim separation piece (like that of the 1957-64 Stude trucks) or pinstriping between the two colors of paint. I will get used to it though.

      Brent,
I was thinking that with your oil pressure concerns, it may be worth the trouble to pull the pan and clean the oil pump pick up screen as you said it had been sitting a long time. We both know what sitting does to oil.

That may be a very good idea. I will run it some more and look for crankshaft seal leakage before removing the pan. As for the water pump, it has severe leakage, so I will replace it and may look at removing the freeze plugs while I have the coolant drained, and clean out the water passages.
    Working...
