I agree with Bob on almost all accounts. I believe the longer a person is alive, the more apparent it becomes that the accumulation of wealth for it's own sake has little value, but to his heirs. There are people who enjoy counting their money over and over again, but I'm not one of them. I gave up any idea of being rich over thirty years ago. An X-wife made it clear that wealthy I would never be. I consider myself to be a preservationist first and an occasional restorer. When my time is up I will leave behind what I've saved. I really don't care if people remember my name. My legacy is the cars, that's what is important.

So if Brad B is too expensive for you, here is an alternative for Avanti restoration.

I know that it doesn’t apply to everybody, but many men get to a certain age, and they start thinking about their legacy. And my only child, my son, will not survive into old age. We will never have any grandchildren. Still, I am one of those that has had a pretty amazing, full life, and I want to leave something of positive value for this world, when I leave it, some thing that will last well beyond me. Something far more tangible than money; money comes, disappears, and gets replaced with more of the same. As anybody that knows me would guess, it is absolutely Automotive related. It doesn’t matter to me whether I am credited with it in the future, or even now. My ultimate goal is to have built some thing that, when I know that my ride is coming to an end, I can be glad that some thing I did will endure. And what we are doing will either meet that goal for me, or will destroy me trying to make it. God gave me this specific vision; the hardest part was understanding the call. When the good Lord comes looking for me, he’s going to find me working!

I'm flattered that people think my work is good. But the expensive part is a myth. I'm below national average. I'm a one-man shop, and slow, but thorough.
