Frances Bavier played the sassy and motherly Aunt Bee on "The Andy Griffith Show" for eight seasons. She also got around in style.

I think another poster here reported recently that the car is still in the hands of a collector here in North Carolina.

Correct: MeTV article about Aunt Bee's (Francis Bavier) 1966 Studebaker - Studebaker Drivers Club Forum

Unfortunately, Aunt Bea's '66 Studebaker was the subject of Bob Palma's final Hemming's Classic Car column: Bob Palma passed away last night . - Studebaker Drivers Club Forum

With a forum name of Rafe Hollister, I am interested in anything related to Aunt Bea.

I have thought for some time that an International Meet in or near Mt. Airy, NC ("Mayberry") would "Bee" of interest to many of our members.

We had an International meet in Charlotte , 2001 or 02 if I remember correctly. It included a day trip to "Mayberry" and yes it was a hoot. I have a picture of my Daytona in front of the Studebaker dealership to remember the occasion.

The first time I saw your handle, Bob, I thought it referred to another famous locale here in my home state, until I realized it referred to, you know, a Studebaker.

StudeNewby- When I joined this forum years ago, I settled on Pinhurstbob for my handle because I live on Pinehurst Dr and the Bob part is obvious. The fact that Studebaker produced a wagon called Pinehurst was a bonus. Yes people think I own one, but no I do not. Just 2 Larks and recently an Avanti. Had a good friend that preferred 4 door cars and went by the handle "2 more doors". Peoples handle could be an interesting thread of discussion.
