  • Cat whiskers and clips

What's the preferred method of installing cat whiskers that are mounted in clips? Install the clips first, then crimp the clips to hold the cat whiskers in place? What's the best crimping tool in this case.
    thanks

I always install the clips onto the catwhiskers first. Make a crimping tool by modifying a cheap pair of lineman's pliers (used a burr in a die grinder to put a "divot" in one jaw for the protrusion on the back side of the clip to fit into).

If you are referring to the ones at the top of the doors, I found it easier for me to pop clips into the door first, slide whiskers in and used a bent pry bar to bend the clips. I didn't have to measure the distances, get it wrong and remove and adjust.

Depends on if the glass is in and in the way. If it is, easier to crimp the clips on first.
