You've been added to A1 Studebaker Drivers Club on GroupWorks by Cynthia Sale

One further note:
If your email states that you are being added to the A1 Group in Studebaker GroupWorks, that is correct. As members of Studebaker GroupWorks are being added to it, they are being placed in the A1 Group. When we begin receiving membership lists from chapters within SDC that we can compare these names and email addresses to, we will remove them from A1 and assign them to a different chapter designation.
Be patient with us, join in the fun, and watch for this to grow!!!

Cynthia
I’ve read the TW write ups and forum posts about this and I still don’t really know what it is, or what the advantages are. It sounds like it’s similar to this forum, but for SDC members only.
Of course, exclusivity doesn’t create growth in an old car club.

This could have been rolled out in a much better manner than in an email from a person I never heard of (who's name "Sales" sounds like a scam to start with). Then it goes on to notify me I'm member of a new group instead of asking if I'd like to be a member of a new group, etc. I sent the original email to the "trash" folder without opening it and there it will stay.Dan Peterson

Why would SDC want members to go post and live on another forum?
A forum divided from SDC, other members and the general public?
SDC being dissolved and shut down?
Is the goal of groupworks to infect Studebaker owner phones with an app?

I think that mentality is shortsighted. The SDC should be proud to host a free-to-use forum that welcomes anyone who’s interested in Studebakers.
I think SDC has shot themselves in the foot on this Groupworks thing. Scouring the membership list for email addresses and sending unsolicited social media invites.. Not many people are going to be open to that.
I keep saying that these ongoing changes to make SDC “exclusive” are going to be the end of this club. Nobody seems to care.

I just watched the video of Cindy and Denny discussing this whole thing.
This is the company that owns “Groupworks”.
Whoever this company is, they’re allowing SDC to utilize their services for free? They wouldn’t be doing that unless there’s an underlying benefit for them.
This all seems really fishy.
Question that kept popping up as I watched the video:
Denny claimed that the reasoning behind Groupworks was for the sake of sharing club information to members in a timely fashion. He said that this is because Turning Wheels is delayed, and a lot of people don’t use this forum or check their email often.
Let’s say that 10% of SDC members decide to join in on this Groupworks thing and keep tabs on it..
How is this any better for sharing information than other methods? You’ll still only be reaching those who decided to opt in.

Do you have a link to the video of Cindy and Denny discussing this whole thing? I want to always if possible to get accurate and complete information on a topic before making my personal decision as to future action. I also find it curious the company that owns Groupworks is an insurance "group" that targets older people, which to be honest is a large percentage of SDC members. I will respond with other thoughts after I see the video

Well I suppose around 10 Thousand of us got these emails, I have several emails, and because I have NEVER heard of "Cindy Sales" of course I did nothing about it.
It would have worked if it came from someone we have all heard of like Denny Fouse..
NO, I can't deal with Facecrook, I sure wouldn't try another one.
And like everyone else, I don't like being signed up for something I did Not ask for.StudeRich

StudeRich, Joining Studebaker GroupWorks is TOTALLY OPTIONAL for you. You are NOT going to be added to it unless you choose to accept the invite to join. Please read Turning Wheels and you will learn who Cindy Sale is. She is a long-time member of SDC and produces the FINE YouTube videos related to Studebaker you see there.
