  • Reproduction Bullet Nose

Does anyone sell reproduction bullet noses (just the chrome bullet, not the whole car)? I have some ideas, but can't afford and don't want to ruin an original piece.

There are no reproductions of the chrome 1950 bullet. The plastic bullet insert for the 1951 has been reproduced a few times by different folks.

Also, there was a fiberglass body for a golf cart that had a 1950 front clip with a bullet nose on it. Maybe that fiberglass bullet could be obtained somewhere.

Or maybe someone could make a mold of the chrome 1950 bullet and that could be cast in resin.

You'd think these days someone could vacuum form them or even 3-D print them.

I might be able to 3d print in 2 pieces maybe 1 . color optional. I have to find one in my parts and measure. What color would you want. silver? A roll of filament 35 minimum. engineering and measurement.
Thinking of getting my class to work on project. I can take my seniors out to eat for 150 . That would be 15 students at ten dollar meals if we came thru for you.

I seem to remember that Matt with Stephen Allen's Studebaker Parts (now one of the owners) was reproducing the plastic '51 version at one time. Might be worth checking with him and see if he still has any.

Thom, I can then make them in fiberglass, if you can find one to borrow for a while I can make a mold of.

              Thom,

Curiosity compels me to ask what you have in mind to improve on the original 1950 front bullet nose?

Have you seen the Bullet Nose Hawk? I really like it. Not sayin' I want to do it, but if I had a bullet nose piece laying around I might get ideas for my 56 Power Hawk. I'll post a picture.

I’ve got a handful of them that are cast, I just need to paint the insides. Once the thrill of making them wore off (I only did it because I needed one for my car), I got bored and went on to other projects.

Are you willing to sell one? How much would you want?

The Bullet Nose is such an iconic piece, I'm surprised it doesn't show up more often on custom cars. Here are a few pictures; Hawk, Hot Rod Roadster, Pick Up.
I you have any pictures of the bullet nose on other brands or models, i would like to see them.

The open wheeled racer is cool! Don't really care for it on the truck.
