Was watching the auction on Friday and surprisingly I saw 2 Studebakers cross the block. Both were pretty good looking examples and sold for a reasonable price I thought reflecting today's values. 51 Commander stick with OD $19000 and 57 Provincial 4 door wagon V8 auto $17000. When I compare that to a 60's VW Bus (without the windows in the roof) made in Brazil that went for $41000 it makes me wonder. Back in the day I believe you could buy a couple of V Dubs for the cost of 1 Stude, now it takes 2 Studes and $5000 to buy 1 V Dub... Go figure?? A Van that is dangerous on today's highways due to being under powered costing more than 2 Studebakers equipped for today's speeds. I guess the buyer does not belong to a DRIVERS Club.

Purchases are often not made with reason, suitability or facts in mind. I am currently looking to purchase a 4x4 mini truck. Many are not road legal and will not do more than 35-40 mph but it is all I need to zip down the dead end road I am on to get to my sawmill.
