This is in 1971. I don't remember what parts I was there for.

Great Picture Warren, I don't believe I have seen any Better, if ANY!
That large Pillar on the Right edge of the Pic is the opening of the unusual in So Cal Indoor Used Car Lot. They had No vacant Land in Downtown L.A. anywhere near on Western Ave. 200 Block, so that was the Only choice.
Owner/Mgr.Walter Bibens had the back half of the open Used Car Lot framed in, to create the New West Coast Warehouse for Stude. Automotive Sales Corp. (SASCO) Parts since they purchased the Original Warehouse inventory in Burlingame, CA near San Fransisco.
I think it is quite ironic that the remaining Stock of NOS Parts which was very sizeable, went right back to the San Fransisco Area AGAIN when Studebakers West in Redwood City bought out Frost and French, complete with the Clark Forklift and '64 8E7 Red Champ.
That was one of the Years that I was Working at the Parts Counter, I think you may have bought them from Me, WAY before I knew you!
As Bob Palma's recent String Title said; sometimes it's a small Stude. World!

What a great picture! I have a bunch of parts and a few invoices from that dealership in my parts boxes.

I too have plenty of memories of going there with my dad to buy parts and get advice. Those days dad was managing Sturdevant's Auto Parts on Van Nuys Blvd. Later he went to work for Valley Ring and Re-bore in Van Nuys. Whenever they needed Studebaker parts he would often run to Frost & French himself just so he could talk to the guys in the parts and repair shops. Thanks for sharing that great photo.

Back in 1975 while on a vacation in Beverly Hills I rented a car and drove over to F&F but do not remember if this was the location. While there taking pictures I spoke to a fellow named (I think) Lambert Moldanado, we had a great conversation and what memories I still have!

I remember 838 Alvarado Street (I think) Not any big signs like those! But Walter & Bob most helpful!
I would sneak over on my lunch from work on LaBrea & 4th.

Great Photo, I have great memories of Walter and Bob. Purchased my first parts from this location in 1965, continued buying parts at all all the Frost and French locations. Bernardo Street, Alvarado street and the final location in Lancaster ending in 1984 for me.

I was visiting out there in 72 or 73. I stopped in at Frost and French just to check it out. I think they had Raymond Loewey’s Avanti back in the service area. I believe it had ceramic tile in place of carpet. It was not much for a young kid to look at.. I did see a black 64 Avanti for sale on their bulletin board. It was black, red interior, four speed, R3 engine and Halibrand mags. I bought it and still own it.
