Other than the height of the vertical spear, are the '51-52 chevy fuel door guard and '53-54 Stude K-body guard the same?

Most of those things are universal type accessories made by independent companies and sold by dealers. That does not answer your question, though.

Have you found a Chevrolet guard and want to buy it?

Well they ('51-52 Chevy) are more available and usually half the price. Just curious.

Besides you, who will know the difference? And if they do, with a very straight face say "I didn't know that" and walk away.

NO they are not the same, and will not interchange. The Chevy fuel door is square so it has a 90 degree corner the trim goes around. The Stude door is a trapezoid, the corner of it that the trim goes around is not 90 degrees, more like 110-120. There are fuel door trims that are strait and only run along the bottom of the fuel door though.

This is the trim on my GT. It was smashed flat when I got it off my my dads '53 Coupe; I straitened and polished it. From what I understand it was actually intended for a '53-'54 Sedan. The strait, bottom only one, was for the C/K from the info I found.
Here is a strait one on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/363411729280

Could be, I never thought to try it on my '53 Sedan before I sold it. Perhaps the '53 sedan door is a bit different than the '55? I don't know. That was just the info I could garner when I found out the strait one was for the C/K.

I doubt they bothred changing the sedan door after two years, a check on part-number on S.I.'s site would probably give the proper answer, but my guess is it has to do with the whole 53-55 sedan body being higher than the sportier bodies.
& yes; it's a coupe/HardTop door mounted on my sedan on the picture.

That's the same one I linked Roy. Seems like a reasonable price.

Yes Roy, that trim was on my dads car when he got it. I can't imagine how someone could flatten that trim without mangleing the 1/4 panel but they did it. He removed it and tossed it in a box, where I rescued it. It was all but totally flat, and I "reformed" and polished it. Decades ago I had a job at a custom car shop restoring trim. The owner had seen my '54 Chevy, tracked me down and asked "who restored your trim?", when I replied "I did" he offered me a job on the spot.

Hey, you have a '54 wagon correct? Does the rear edge of the gas door slant? Also, are the doors the same as those on the sedan? My dad and I were wondering about that the other day.

The rear edge of the door on my wagon slants. The parts catalog says the station wagon is the same as the sedan.

I have a 55 Rambler cross country wagon with the extra spring time trim. There must be 30 pieces of stainless trim on that car and they were all smashed except for one. I straightened all of them and the one that was OK to start with looked poor compared to the ones I straightened.
