Gents would it be possible to post some pictures of the Avanti hood underside? Need some pictures of the right side of the hood where the raised ridge is. Many thanks in advance!

!963 or '64? The '63 hood has a cross brace, the '64 does not. Or, does it matter?

Dwight its a '64 and I just want to mount the lamp where it will "throw" the most illumination.

Inquiring minds want to know - what is the story on the missing chunk out of the 'C' section of the mid hood brace as found on the 63's ?
I have the hood on 63R1089 and a 63 hood from a different Avanti both with the full 'C' sections.
What are the details for the cutout?

Just a guess here, but maybe to accommodate a supercharger hose?

You know I wondered about that, but as my 63R1089 started life as an R-1 and it has been blessed (?? ) by the PO changing it 'loosely' to an R-2 with a SN-92 blower with a custom drive system and an R-3 air box , I can not trust anything under the hood. The R-3 box IS a PITA to work around for all carb. chores. The air rubber hose to the box from the blower pressure outlet was deformed (and hard) so I bet a 'C' section would be helpful.

The section cut out was done by Paxton to install the air box on the development R3 engine in my car.
