  • 1957 Silver Hawk Station Wagon. How many sold?

I recently picked up a 1957 Silver Hawk Station Wagon. I believe it to be pretty rare but I can't find any detail / data on this model. Can anyone point me in the right direction o get sales numbers for a 1957 station wagon? Thanks! Hagerty insurance called it a Commander Provincial model.

I can answer that: NONE. There were 4 Station Wagon Models sold in 1957. Scotsman and Pelham 6 cylinder models. Provincial model which aligned with the 1957 Commander and Broadmoor which aligned with the 1957 President.

If you can attach a picture of your station wagon, we can tell you what model you own.

The 1957 Silver Hawk was a 2 door car; not a station wagon. It is of course possible that a previous owner attached Silver Hawk script to your station wagon. The firewall tag would help greatly in identifying what you have. And, as stated above, a picture would be great.
Studebaker! If you're lucky enough to own one, you're lucky enough!!!

If it is a Provincial with four doors (Body Tag 57B-P4), there were 3995 produced.
If it is a Parkview with two doors, there were 738 produced.

You are correct sir! I had forgotten about the Parkview because they were/are so few. I don't even recall seeing a picture of one for over 30 years.

Looks an awful lot like a Packard Hawk from the beltline down (with side scallops added)

Looks like a Nomad....I'd take one. There is a hawk based wagon owned by a fellow here but it is not a factory offering I don't think.

I believe it was styled by Duncan McRae.

Now we know where Virgil Exner stole the ideas for the 1960 Valiant and Lancer wagons.

Lancer had round tail lights, as did the -62 Valiant; only 60-61 Valiant had slanted tail lights & that's a -61 V200 on the picture, there's a "200" in the circle at the trim on front fender.

We had a 61 lancer same color blue as above. Dad added coil over booster springs and that car would transition smoothly into a four wheel drift at the limit of adhesion. I always liked it but felt the valiant was a cleaner version of it.
