I'm in need of a carpet kit (front and rear) for a 1955 coupe. Suggestions on who carries or makes them now?

Carpet kits - Sources?

I'm not trying to make any judgment on the carpet kit above, because I really don't know what it's made of or how well it's put together. What I do know is that original carpeting as used in all 55's is rarely seen today, expensive when found and may be unavailable. Studebaker used what has come to be called "wool hogshair" today. If you have a small sample of the original stuff, you can compare it to any down market samples and tell the difference. It just depends on how anal you want to get about keeping the car as close to original as possible.

For many years I've dealt with Auto Mat Company. AutoMat Customizing & Restoration - Home Page (autointeriors.biz). Carpets and upholstery. Excellent quality and excellent service.

SMS in Oregon supplied the carpet kit as well as all the upholstery material and headliner for my 1957 Packard Clipper wagon. Although it required some modifications (performed by my talented upholsterer) it looks real good.

I have to Second Automotive Interiors, as my purchases have been top notch, for fit, quality, timing etc. (before Covid) etc.
But mine were 1964, a LOT different than '55's as Bill said, always ask for Samples to get the Color right, IF they have the material you want.
