  • Happy birthday to two late great Studebaker guys

Today is the birthday of two of my dearest Studebaker friends who have passed on: Leonard Shepherd and Dale McPhearson. When I came to the Studebaker world these were two of the guys that I really hit it off with. Happy birthday in heaven, guysand thank you Facebook for reminding me.

Dale was a great guy. He & his wife always made us feel welcome.

'Didn't realize they had the same birthday, Bob; thanks.

Well worth remembering; two great guys I had the pleasure of knowing well for many years.

      RIP, Leonard and Dale. BP

I didn't know them, but I have lost two dear friends in the last year. It can really let the air outa your tires when you loose friends. I didn't post much for a few months because of my own personal funk. I wanted to explain why, felt I may have let some of you down, but it didn't seem appropriate. So I appreciate this chance to express my condolences for those that knew Dale and Leonard, and to say one more good by to my friends David Bellairs and Jenn Mariposa. David owned a '27 Buick and lent me his truck, trailer, and brother Arlan to pick up my Hawk. Jenn was a friend and dance partner, like a daughter to me, who's husband and young children continue to brighten my life. We lost David to Covid. Jenn to a distracted driver while pushing her stroller in a crosswalk. Both much younger than most of us, gone way too early.

If Leonard was truly the dear friend that you claim him to be, one would think you would know that his last name was Shepherd.

Relax Guido; Dale's last name McPhearson was misspelled too. I don't care and I am his son. It is the thought that counts. Thank you Bob for remembering your friends.

Never mind ol’ Gary. He’s still a bitter person for unknown reasons. He claimed to have blocked me but it’s flattering to see that he still cares about what I say. But he was right about the misspelled names, I went back and corrected them.
