  • 1966 Studebaker Registry

Putting another call out there for anyone who would like their '66 car included in the SDC registry for the last year of production. I'm working on another update for the list. If you know anyone with a '66 send them my way & I'll get them added. PM or email at miso7 at wabash.net Thanks

I know of a 66 2 door Commander originally 6cyl. I won't see the guy real soon, but can pass it on when I do.
Tom Senecal Not enough money or years to build all of the Studebakers that I think I can.

Thanks. I've been trading emails with a fellow in Hamilton who just purchased a Cruiser which is the 11th from the end. It was built late in the day on 16 March.

Hoping that you will be able to post or circulate the results once you get the Roster updated.

Access to the registry has been restored in the resources section and an updated copy is there now....but I've been able to add another 6 vehicles since then. If anyone would like a copy of the registry, just shoot me an email & I can send the excel file. I have about 160 serial numbers documented so far but the status of some cars are still unknown. I've run across at least a dozen '66 cars that the owners have declined to have them documented so the true amount of surviving cars will never be known.

I can't for the life of me understand why someone wouldn't like their car listed in a registry. It's just an informational and common-interest thing.

I have nothing against registries and have shared info of my Studebakers for such, but many people simply don't care to do so as they feel that they have nothing to gain by sharing said information. Perhaps it is the same reason that many people don't vote.

I know that there are some owners who believe they own "rare" (and therefor) "valuable" cars. They don't want to know or acknowledge their cars may not be all that "rare" which could subtract from it's perceived value.
