  • 1938 K10 pickup -- are they rare?

This was at a car show in the Phoenix area last weekend. When looking online for more info, somewhere it was stated that less than 100 were ever made. Yet looking at Yahoo photos, I found 4 photos (2 were factory pics and the other 2 were for sale). So are they really rare, or was that part someone's dream?

A total of 170 1938-model K10 trucks were built in November and December 1937, and another 364 were built in calendar year 1938. Production continued into 1940 with no significant changes. The K10 was available with several bodies, including the Fast-Transport pickup and a panel body. Richard Quinn may have a breakdown of how many K10s were built with "Express" pickup bodies, but I do not. Total calendar year production of K-series trucks (all models except Coupes Express) was as follows: 1937: 626; 1938: 3768; 1939: 5128; 1940: 1658; 1941: 497; 1942: 100.

        That's a nice looking truck in post #1. Per Skip's figures, 3,768 produced in 1938, and 11,777 total from 1937 through 1942.

There is one up in Jerome at the Gold King Mine Ghost Town. Also in another thread a 1902 Studebaker Electric. Stude Rich took pictures when he was there and in one of those treads was a picture of the K10.
