  • Stude sighting in a place I never would have thought!

So yesterday I was watching a two hour doc concerning the great play Fiddler on The Roof. Towards the end of the show was great footage from 1964 in front of the Imperial Theater in NYC where the show opened. Well right in front of the theater was parked a '64 Daytona seeing that car certainly gilded the lily as it were!

Great story about the Daytona, It reminds me of the story of Sam Walton. He took his family on vacation to NYC in the families older Chrysler Station wagon. He pulled up right behind a limousine that was letting out dressed to the nines passengers. Sam pulled up next and let the family out to a broadway show.

I do remember seeing several NYC scenes with Studebaker Taxi cabs, but that is a great story. I will have to search for the documentary on that.

You wouldn't want to be in the Oklahoma/Texas panhandles today, Bob. The wind is currently sweeping, and rearranging the plains!

NYC is worth a visit or more. I'll keep living here in Lafayette Indiana though.

35 years ago I attended a Broadway show, the name escapes me, but during intermission when all the ladies rushed to the BR, there was none other than chicken man himself, Frank Purdue waiting for his wife to emerge after voiding her bladder:-)

When I read Chickenman I immediately thought of the white winged warrior, the greatest crime fighter the world has ever known.

Guido and I think alike. Chickenman was a radio comedy series created in the mid-1960s by a very talented comedian named Dick Orkin. Many radio stations carried a 2-minute episode every day. Somewhere in my stash I have a Chickenman LP with the emblem of WKBW Buffalo on it. At the time WKBW was a hugely successful rock 'n roll station, easily heard over the Eastern half of the country at night. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chickenman_(radio_series)
