  • Studebaker truck ev conversion

About a year ago, there was a posting on a Studebaker member converting his truck using a tesla rear end. What happened to that conversion
    . Can't find that posting

Know nothing about that one, but at the Tacoma IM a couple of years back there was an R5 converted to use a forklift motor and batteries. In fact, I believe it was for sale there in the outdoor swap meet area.

This was a interesting view as well - other than the electric motor, original drive train in this 3/4 ton Champ - can really hear the four speed tranny whine now.

I have photos of the R5 truck that was at Tacoma in 2018 that was converted to electric. It is the tan truck on the right.

Incredible idea! You have to wonder if swapping out old gas-fueled engines with electric-powered ones will become common practice. The big motor companies aren't going to like this because they want to own every part of the vehicle and many are behind the trend of switching to electricity.

A very interesting topic to keep an eye on!
