Newbee...Welcome to Studebaker World....we are here to help. To that end I do strongly recommend you look hard UNDER this car. The frame and control arms and major drive components MUST be viable or this is going to be a lost cause. I say this NOT to be negative, but to be truthful...the pictures appear that the car was stored outside in dirt. If the frame is rotted please stop and get another Studebaker and use this car as a parts car that will still have an attachment to the family (inherited it). This car by the pictures could easily run into over $10,000 dollars in the blink of an eye. Please have some other people evaluate your plans....Trust me I am all in when it comes to these old gals, but I have found out the hard way...stored in dirt is dirty business.

Looks like its been sitting inside for a looong time. Take time to check it over. May need little more than a bit of love, and a good cleaning.
If its not a total rust bucket, you have the makings of one of the most competitive and desirable Studebaker race cars.
