When I get approached by somebody looking over my Studebakers I just play dumb and tell them that I have never heard of whatever it is that they claim was reality but is not. It prevents the individual from hating Studebaker owners and feel good for enlightening me. Nobody is really hurt and life goes on......

To my knowledge, I don't believe any 327 AMC engines were fitted with a supercharger.

Your mention of the AMC 327 reminds me of car show I attended about 15 years ago. They would periodically ask trivia questions over the PA and give away prizes. One question concerned who had the first 327 engine. After numerous guesses of Chevy, they announced that it was AMC. I hunted down the announcer and told him the correct answer was Packard as he had not specified V-8.

Especially since they operate in the wrong direction!

At one of the first car shows I took my '54 to, I was enjoying just watching people. I noticed a fellow with two young teen boys with him, sharing his abundant knowledge on each car as they passed by.

Sitting next to 'Sheba was a Nash Metropolitan. As they approached the Met, he stopped, walked around it, and bent down to look under the rear bumper. He must have been a plumber, if you get my drift.

He stood back up, and announced to the teens, "They have taken the prop off of this car, but when it was new, you could drive it off of a boat ramp, drive it around the lake, come back out of the water, and take off down the road."

The boys seemed to be as impressed as I was by his wisdumb.

The overall shape of the met does look a bit like an amphicar.

Manta Ray is an appropriate name - the dash looks organic and textured as a coral reef!
I wouldn't want to detail that.

One form I cannot help but notice is the similarity of the upper front fender profile (above the trim) to our beloved Larks.
