Now there is a "sled", nice find Matt! Guess you will be filling up your garage with projects, lol. I know where there is a nice matching Packard 4 door you can buy.

I'm looking forward to seeing the car run on youtube and a wash and wax...

Very nice car, Matt; quite a find! All congrats and best wishes on getting it back in the air. Enjoy...and know 'most everyone is envious of anyone else finding such an original, unmolested Stude. BP

Thanks all for the kind comments. Makes me feel better about it!

Don't worry, pics and videos will follow as soon as I get it home. Wish me luck gettin' the engine to purrin'! I'm looking forward to having a big, comfortable Stude I can drive down the interstate. It'll be a step up from the Lark 6. [^]

Cool find, Matt! Congrats! Are you thinking about driving it to Iowa for the SDC Int'l Meet? It'd be a great road car! We're hoping to take our '58 4-door, and it would be cool to park two unmolested, 2nd owner cars side-by-side. [8D]

Will, your new President puts my Commander to shame! Beautiful car!

Weird huh? Two original '58 Sedans coming to light on the SDC Forum, within days of each other. Gotta love it! Mine's also 'super solid' and has VERY few options. Not even an oil filter!

Oh, and Iowa is highly doubtful.

Nah, ours just had a bath, already. Can't wait to see yours once you've had a chance to get the dust off. Those colors will really show beautifully! Ours both look like they're in similar condition. Did you find remains of critters in the headliner and back seat like we have?

                          Bummer about Iowa.

Matthew if you want to save a ton of time, purchase some Marine Clean from the POR 15 people. You spray it all over engine compartment, motor and suspension, let is sit and wash it off. You do this two or three times and all of the grime and grease just disappear. Even for sitting all of these years, this car looks very clean. TONS of potential !!!!!!!!

StudeDave...contrary to belief, I am more of a Studebaker guy than a Packard guy. I have only been purchasing 57/58 Packard stuff since 1999, Studebaker cars and parts purchases go back to 1985.

A good friend of mine in H.S. had a 58 Commander. Once he took the whole infield to an away baseball game in the car. It was very dependable and everyone dug the cyclops eye speedometer. Great find. (MORDORZ)
