In order to make my 56 Hawk a daily driver, I simply must be able to tow and haul with it. So I just finished welding up a receiver trailer hitch and then installing the lumber rack from my van to my Hawk. The rack installs in less than 10 minutes. So can we call this a Sport Utility Vehicle?
We watched fireworks from the Humboldt Bay in our kayaks, mine rode in style on the Hawk.

I love it, Rafe! Using your Stude in everyday life, just like they did when they were new!...well, maybe not EXACTLY like they did...

My Kayak is a Folbot. They started in the 1930s and went out of business in 2016. When they did, they took down their web site so I do not know how old my 'Yak is, probably from the 70s. But here is an add from 1956 where it looks essentially the same. Cool, eh?

When I read your text I thought you were kidding Thom...then I saw the pics; That's great!

I've got s two seater kayak, but I don't think I'd ever consider putting it on top of my GT.

Here's a picture of me taking my new Kinetic Grand Championship sculpture machine for its first water test. Trailer hitch worked great. If you don't know what the Kinetic Grand Championship is, watch this 60 sec video teaser. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9fcz-SYd9M
There are several events on the left coast. I plan to compete in Corvallis Oregon next week end. Lets hope my Hawk makes it there and back.
