    Richard,
Thanks for the very entertaining post. You guys had tons of fun. I don't think I have ever seen so many Studebaker Drag Cars in one place. What was your best ET & MPH?
    Cheers,
    Bill

My car on that day did four runs in the 7.2s@ 93,94MPH, and one run 7.4 I didn't release the line lock, the fastest car here. You can see the tire smoke and the car jump about 20' out when I did release it on the first run. It has run faster. Next was Tom Covington's red 1964 turbo Studebaker 289 @ I think 7.75, then the BB489 gasser at around 7.8.
      Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

That's fun to watch, but it's too bad you can't REALLY get those Superchargers kicking though a whole 1/4 Mile.

I'm not sure what you are saying. My car has no supercharger and runs just fine in the 1/4 mile in the low 11,s@118.61mph. Teds R2 ran 12.61@116+ just a couple weeks ago in Martin, Michigan on hard street radials just like you would have on the road.

I was just trying to say, were not at least some of these Supercharged, which always "Get Going" at the end? There was one Turbocharged, and Supercharged or not, they could have all got some Serious Top Speeds and good ET if they had a real 1/4 Mile Track to do it.

Yes, they run the second 1/8th mile with the full advantage of higher boost, I agree. Tom's turbo car turns great times ether way, it seems like to me, but he has drag tires, and a power glide set up to race behind his Studebaker engine, that helps. Ted has street tires and a stock four speed he setup for 1/4 mile runs.
              Thanks,
              Richard

Great video enjoy everyone that’s ever been posted. It seems to me that this last video cars are much quicker than ever before. Will I ever get the Whistler to the drags not sure about that but let’s keep dreaming. My only dream with the Whistler is to beat some of its original times back in the day. Should not be hard to do. The car is much lighter than it used to be with all the undercoat taken off. With a thin layer of bedliner to replace it. Well I guess I’ll keep dreaming someday. You men keep going faster great video thank you. John Kroulik
