  • '55 Speedster engine number question

According to the production order, the engine in my Speedster (3 speed O/D) is not the original. The current engine number is P 102296. The font of the "6" does not match the rest of the numbers. Does anyone know the type and year of this engine? Thanks for any help you can offer. Quentin

Does it have an oil filter just above the oil pan on the right hand side at the back? If so, it could be a late 1963 full flow engine. '63 engine numbers started with 92,xxx and '64 changed numbering system.

Sure. 'Late 1963 289 engine, pure and simple. 'Should make the Speedster run good, Quentin! BP
