  • Found on Farcebook, 1960 Studebaker Champ EV (electric vehicle)

Has this been posted on here already? I do not recall hearing of it before. Anyway, here is a link to the whole story: Studebaker chAMP (electricstudebaker.com)

Interesting! I haven't heard of this one before. I would sure love to see it in person. And you'd think being in Madison we'd have seen it once or twice by now! As I have related too many times before I was thinking about building my M5 as an EV but in 2009 a couple of visits to the local EV club squashed that idea -- it would have been far too much custom research and development. Luckily I found a 259 on the floor of Tom Karkiewicz's barn. I have been keeping an eye out for EV hotrods at Back To The 50's, and maybe this is the year for it.

Pretty darn slick. There may come a day when we will have to convert all of Studebakers to electric if we want to keep them on the road. Who knows.

Looks like a fine job well done! How much did this conversion cost?
