Bob, if you're looking for the threads regarding the information I posted about the 1963 Lark convertible that's for sale at Wild West Cars and Trucks in Seattle, both threads have been deleted from the Forum for some reason.

I still have the serial number, engine number, and body tag number. I posted those numbers in both threads, but when I search the Forum for those numbers now, the two threads do not come back in the search results. I did a Google search using the numbers and came up with a link to one of the Forum threads, but when I clicked on the link, the Forum opened with a message that the URL was not valid.

I spent a lot of time posting my review of the car, twice. I'm not going to waste my time doing it third time. My guess is that someone does not want that information appearing on the Forum and requested that the threads be deleted.

Mark, were these threads in the 'for sale/wanted' section of the forum? If so, they won't stay there forever - the SDC Forum Advertising Policy 'sticky' says "Posts will expire after 28 days and will be deleted from the Forum upon expiration."

I don't remember if they were in the For Sale section or not. If they were, that may be why they're gone.

That was the one, Mark. Somebody was asking about it on Facebook. I was going to show them the underside pictures.

Hi Mark do you remember if we ever determined WHAT Engine it actually HAS?
It has the '63 Avanti Powered Badges, but didn't we find out it pretty much just has Chrome Valve Covers with no Avanti Innards? But 259, 289 or R Series Block?

This is the picture they DIDN’T include in the listing, taken by Mark L. That, combined with the hack job interior, should tell anyone about the honesty of the sellers.

But on the bright side, that section of frame looks very good!

I actually thought the Interior looked OK, not a fan of Brown Carpet and Door Panel Bottom trim with Burgundy Seat Inserts, it should have Matched, but the Door Panels and 1/4 Panels and their Design looks much better than the Radical Re-Designed ones I have seen, even here.

I like the look of this one, on TOP at least!
Too bad they did a Top down Resto and never quite got there, instead of Bottom, UP.

In my experience, any “restoration” that would leave the bottom like that is going to be poorly done throughout. Photos make paint look better than it really is. This thing may be filled with flashing and bondo and Fiberglas cloth. Another red flag is the terrible interior redo.

There are plenty of cars out there. Unless this thing gets down to around $5K I would recommend avoiding it. And to the current owner, you can use it as a lesson to have somebody who knows what they’re doing check it in person before you buy. Now you have an owner that feels trapped, and looking to bail out by screwing somebody else. Bad for the hobby all the way around.
