Kind of a cool Scot, a very high quality build. I wonder how much more than $18K he wants?

Bob, that is a very nice example. Love the seats. That would be the most expensive Scotsman I have seen though.
Do you know what that thing is sticking out of the front of the vehicle?

Quite modified. I can't read the information on the window card. With what I see, $18K seems like a lot of money for it.

EDIT: By picture enlargement, I see that it has a 350 and AT. Even more modified than I initially thought. I still can't see it bringing more than $19,800 ($18K + 10%)

This is a pretty nicely upgraded car, properly done body and interior, and air ride. I didn’t bother to open the hood, but if it’s as well done as the rest of the car, he’s not unreasonable. As the saying goes, you couldn’t build it for that; hell, the paint alone is worth half that.

You have to remember thst in the Studebaker world they are held in low regard for being the basement models they are; but in the collector world as a whole it’s an interesting piece for somebody wanting something unique, and with the unappealing factory driveline replaced with a much more popular choice.

Still, as a dealer, I can’t put $20K in it and hope there’s meat on the bone. Too many other more popular cars out there on which to speculate. But for an end user it’s not a bad deal for a car ready to use today.

I was going by this car today and opened the hood. Nothing fancy, but it has two 4 barrel demon carburetors on it.

It seems to me that if you are going to restorod a black car it should have A/C

Definitely. If you are in that deep, it’s not really that much more. I’m getting so I don’t ever want to go without it. Most of last summer that Speedster sat in the garage because it was too hot and I didn’t feel like driving it anywhere.
