Raymond Loewy Briefcase

I am seeking information regarding a briefcase that has been identified as having been being used by Raymond Loewy. In a magazine article several years ago Laurence Loewy was quoted that this briefcase belonged to her father and was used to transport documents between Palm Springs and South Bend during the development of the Avanti.

My guess is someone has it stashed in a forgotten corner having no idea of its former owner or significance.

I do know where the briefcase is, I am curious if there is any truth to the Avanti part of the story as it was published in the article.
