    Rich,
It's the cover photo from the South Jersey Chapter Facebook page.
As Randy indicated, they made it their chapter destination more than a decade ago.
Pete Chrisitello has more photos from the day. That's his gray Commander business coupe in the center; and I believe Randy's '56 second from the left.

Yes, that's my blue and white 56J on the left. Now that I'm remembering better I think we were allowed inside, but there sure wasn't anything there from Studebaker days. I looked. Sadly the building looks like it has deteriorated more in the last 10 years. Hopefully someone will repurpose it and it will be saved. Last I heard the owner was asking a crazy amount for it. I know Peter C. was looking to get it registered as a historic building. Don't know how far that got. I live in Delaware now, so that's a ride for me. If you contact the South Jersey president on their facebook, maybe you could drum up interest to do it again.

Scarf off the large Studebaker mortar/ceramic emblems and sell these at a premium to interested buyers. Would make an amazing piece of yard art and conversation.

The building has little material value, limited commercial value and only some sentimental value to Studebaker people and perhaps local citizens who remember it. From the discussion it sounds like even the land value has deteriorated given surrounding socio-economic decay?

The building will be flattened and not saved is my guess. Witnessing the demolition of my local art-deco Nash dealership so they could build condominiums 5 years ago, zero people shed a tear and no one remembers it there.

Does anyone have or know of a picture of Mathis Motors in its heyday? Say the 1940's 0r 50's? I don't remember ever seeing one, would love to see it with a bunch of new Studebakers parked around it.

The Atlantic City Press did an article on the Mathis Motors Dealership many years ago. The Press had some photos of the deakership while still operating.

Mathis moved into AC during its last years. They were never in Egg Harbor City. The dealer on the corner was Bonner Buick, later Weiler Chevrolet. Records indicate City Line Garage “was” a dealer in 1919, the nondescript building is still there, as a garage and used car lot. (Now closed). Rt 30, just down from the closed car wash. Across the road from the closed Acme.

Bob’s Studebaker dealer list lists Mathis Motor Co. In West Atlantic City, Vineland, and Egg Harbor. Could be Egg Harbor Twp. I’m guessing? Oh well stand corrected as you live there and should know.
I have another Egg Harbor City question.
a bit further up on Rt.30 on the same side of road as Weiler Chevrolet was. The big yellow building which takes up the block and is a auto body shop now. Was that a car dealership back in the day?
                    Thank you
