Great advertisement! I have that framed and hanging in my office. My brother gave it to me as a birthday present as 1956 is my birth year. Thanks for posting!

Features, trim levels, etc. What made them different from each other in the same year?

Hardtop vs. coupe, V8 of various displacements and type vs. six cylinder, interior and exterior trim.

Golden Hawk and Sky Hawk are in the 'President' class, though not badged as Presidents. Both are K-body hardtops. President badges were put on sedans.

The '56 Golden Hawk left the factory with the Packard 352 engine and 4-bbl carb (two 4-bbls optional). It was the only Hawk in '56 with fins, and they were fiberglass. All others that first year were finless.
The '56 Sky Hawk was equipped with the 289 V-8 and a 2-bbl (4-bbl optional).

The Power Hawk and Flight hawk were both C-body coupes.

The Power Hawk ranks in the Commander class, though, again, not badged as such. It came with the 259 V-8.
The Flight Hawk would be in the Champion class, with the 185 flat head six.

Two four bbls. were offered on Packards, but never factory offered on Studebaker. Many have been converted later.

My Dad ordered a new '61 Hawk as the young family's second car.
                      Wanted something sporty.
                      Wanted something different.
But it had to hold three lil' kids.
(And that 3rd kid was 'family fun' trouble).....

There were 560 Flight Hawk K-body hardtops produced, mainly for export.

Sure did. I still have the salesman's business card with the quote written on the back of it.
The Hawk? Suburban Chicago salt took it's toll. Bondo'd it up as a broke teenager and drove the snot out of it until the late 70's.
Parked it with the 'someday' excuse. Marriage/mortgage/career all kept it on the back burner.
It's all over at Stephen Cade's now... Hopefully it will donate parts to someone else's '61 Hawk project.

Here's a pic of it from...1971 at South Bend IM.
