  • 1964 Studebaker police car in lengthy chase scene!

The 1964 Studebaker Police Car in this 8-minute chase scene must be the export Timex model; it takes a licking and keeps on ticking! It reappears later in the video after it's gone about five minutes.

Amazing how it "repairs" itself after crashes that should have taken it out, including a roll-over. 'Gotta love B-grade movies. (I froze the frame around 2:15 to see if I could read the secret serial number as it rolled over, but no such luck! <GGG>)

Enjoy even if you can't understand the words:

I think that it is supposed to represent more than one car of the same police force. How about the Checker that can even go through block walls without so much as cracking the windshield.

Here is the full version of the movie in English: it is listed in the title as by SDC Films.

Seeing Richard Widmark, English Actor Oliver Reed and Sam Wanamaker in a Checker Marathon being chased by Studebaker and Jeep gives me the Willys. (Sorry could not resist the pun). Sam Wanamaker was the chief driving force for the restoration of the Shakespeare Globe Theater in London.

Here is a snopsis of the movie: A retired CIA Agent is forced back into service at the request of his protege who has defected to the Soviet Union and now wants to return home.

The chase scene is near the end of the movie.

Watch this at your peril of wasting time.

Not all one Studebaker. Sometimes with speakers on the roof and sometimes not.

Those folks need to come to the USA and get schooled in how to do the precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver!

It seems like many of the Studebakers I have owned were treated just like this one before coming to me.

Checkers were darn tough cars, but maybe not quite that tough. I have seen them win a few demo derbies back in the day. The clip was well worth the 8 minutes.

Believe this is an Italian movie filmed in Lebanon. Evidentially, in Lebanon concrete block walls are made of Styrofoam. Reminds me of a scene in the Blues Brothers, one of the greatest movies ever. Jake and Elwood are in a building which gets blown up. They are then shown unharmed crawling out from under a pile of bricks.

The text on The Studebaker don't look like the letters used in Lebanon...
