I walked into the room at the end of a preview on TV of a nice 1953 Starliner restomod. I think that it will be on the block tomorrow (Sat., 12/5).Gary L.

This is a great looking 53! I’d gladly call it mine but it honestly makes me love S2D even more. The stance on this one needs adjusting. It sits a bit too high and the wheels/tires stick too far out of the body. With the custom suspension, I’m not sure how much could be done about the wheels positioning in the wheel wells. The wheel/tires on S2D fill out the wheel wells perfectly.

 For comparison, S2D.

I really like the '53. They even left the trim/ornaments on the exterior. I do "question" two things; "NOS factory wheelcovers" and "original stereo".Gary L.

Just what I was going to post. I too wonder where he can find a restored, to that level, 1953 Commander Starliner for $15K.Originally posted by arkusvt View Posthammer price was 75k. announcer said that was 5 times what a restored original would bring. i'd love to buy a '53 commander starliner, restored, for 15k!Gary L.

Several special examples are not indicative of the real market. Just like an occasional refurbished original selling for $15K, is not indicative of the value of a 99 point authentic restoration.

I'm absolutely sure that Wayne Carini, would not take $75,000 for this car.
