I agree, compared to what these trucks sold for in the past this looks like a good deal. I do think you will see cars/trucks coming up for sale that owners would have never considered selling do to the economy. I remember the last downturn going to swap meets and seeing cars that were rare being sold cheap because owners needed money. A great time to buy that car/truck you thought you could not afford or find. Not a good time for owners that are having a rough time of it.

WOW! What a deal! The fact that nobody has scooped it up for the BIN price is a sad indication of the state of the economy and the prevalent pessimism. I had no luck selling my '39 recently and am really glad to keep it. I wish I could buy this one, but better not. I may need some $$ to pay some taxes & bills between now & the coronation of our incoming mess-iah lol!

I know everyone loves these (they are cool looking in person) but, in that condition, how is that price a great deal? That's at least 30K from making it right to me...after you BIN.

I've seen them in worse condition go for more. And, this one includes (according to the ad), lots of spare and hard to find parts. If you could finish it for your $30,000 (I think more!) you would have gotten a great deal.

I bought 2 39's for 10K this year and was worried about the deal. One was running and nicer and sold for good money. The other was just a shell on a brand X frame and think went for 6K. The ebay truck is a bargain for a keeper, but not to flip. in this market.

Definitely on the money at the BIN. Lucky for me (and my wallet!) they're not my cup-o-tea[:0]

JDP's right; that would even be a good flipper price in better times- but NOT in this market. If I had cash I didn't need for 5 years or so I'd grab it as a good investment in a minute!

Watch old movies and it is a reminder of how much larger the average guy is today than seventy-five years ago. I would agree the '39 Coupe Express is my favorite pre-WWII Stude to look at. However, it is just flat too small inside for me. Every time I think about buying one, just remembering how impossible it was to try to drive, to see out, stops me from reaching for the BIN button.

The C-cab trucks are marginal for big guys, but the Coupe Express is not even a possibility for me.

'37's of any kind are my favorite prewar year cars and trucks for style. I guess you won't lose money to BIN and haul it from Idaho and sit on it. But, unless you do that body all yourself, it looks really daunting and 30K is a low ball park, you're right. Lots of body & fender fabricating work. Didn't see nos extras of those in the auction. I'd take it for Christmas if you hit the BIN, Bams, don't get me wrong.
