  • Speedster Interior Kit

Does anyone know if Rene Harger is still doing interiors? I have tried numerous times to get a hold of him . Does someone have a way to reach out to him? I'm in need of a kit for a Speedster and he seems to be the only one who has done original Speedster kits. Please help

    Thanks.

Still working as far as I know. I ordered upholstery for a Sky Hawk this past march.
I know without Bonita he is pressed thin and far behind on production.
His web site URL has lapsed; and if he's physically working he doesn't answer the phone. Catch as catch can.
And I don't believe his business phone can receive text messages.

I know numerous individuals who have currently been waiting as long as 3 years for their interiors from Rene.

Just spoke with Rene last week about materials promised. Another week until said work will be completed, another week before said will be delivered according to Rene who says he's only one guy and has his own system. I guess it works for him. Yes it's hit or miss on the phone as he has MD visits.

Saw him at his shop Sept. 16th. Plan on visiting him again October 5th. If you have been waiting a while, contact him. It seems with some personnel turnovers, some orders may have been misplaced.

Someone here had a new set of all the Speedster panels for sale and also listed them on Ebay. I don't know if they were sold, IIRC they were yellow.

What a coincidence. I was born in Billings. Lived there until 2000. Just curious, what colors are your Speedster? I have grey/ivory, grey/white, and grey/coral (a los angeles car). FWIW, you can tell color carpet by the seat frame paint. There were 3 choices, red, green, and grey black.

I just scrapped a lemon/lime. It was too far gone to save.

Have you entered your car on the Speedster registry?

I would look to another source for your interior. Harger not only did not do the job, but what was done was incorrect and of poor fit. The headliner was the wrong material and a poor fit. I tried repeatedly to cancel the order and finally had to go to a lawyer. I paid in advance-- NEVER do that!--and will likely never get my money refunded. 10 yrs ago he did good work, but no longer. Beware.

He may have contracted some of his work out, if he's behind on orders as others here have said. If a vendor is forced to do so to keep up with demand, there should be some kind of quality control in place to maintain a good vendor's reputation.
