  • New Episode of Motor Trend On-Demand "Roadkill's Junkyard Gold" on Studebakers

For those that are subscribed to Motor Trend On Demand (I get it with my Hagerty Drive membership), the new episode of Roadkill's Junkyard Gold with Steve Magnante is about Studebakers. He visits Browne Auto Salvage in Sunset, TX. Yes, some errors from Mr. Magnante, but he does a pretty 'matter of fact' coverage of the cars that is overall positive and not disparaging (IMO).

For those without MT On Demand, check listings on Motor Trend TV for Junkyard Gold for when it will air.

    Pretty funny pic of Magnante..

Nice, to hear. Ill check it out when I get home. I like this show because of its look back through time layout.

Another picture of Magnante with 1962 GT Hawk from show. I know what you're thinking... 63 front end parts (although I just noticed 62 spears). He shows tag on cowl that is "62V...". Well, it is a junkyard after all, so who knows what the history of the car is.

Watch it last night, enjoyed it. I like how he decided to restore the cars at the end of each episode. Just like in this episode he always pictures the car around the feature that it was born with. In the case of the Hawk, he say to but its 4 speed and 289 back in it because that is what "made" the car. In the case of the president the body is what "made" the car so he said he would preserve that and put a hemi under the hood so that the car could parade around and show off the body styling.

He always envisions the cars with a great balance. A balance in how to give it the most respect while still keeping the hobby fun.

Just saw another episode of Roadkill where they were cruising to shows and "trading up" vehicles. In the lot at one of their stops was a '64/5 wagon with aftermarket wheels. It was a dark color and looked pretty straight. Anyone know who owns it?
