He can probably get blueprints from the Studebaker National Museum. But it's not free.

What would be welcome is a modern molded single piece pan gasket...

Why would he contact SDC? SDC does not get involved in making parts. I would think that if he wants someone to vend them or to get some samples, he should contact one or more of the major vendors, such as SI. He might also contact the SNM for the original prints for the parts.

As always dream big and get what you get, or you could get in touch with Sandy Olson "Olson Gaskets" and deal with a true professional. No disrespect intended, just that Sandy has been the best for decades. Plus he is a Studebaker owner and a great guy.

Agree, if one is dreaming, dream large.

However, the business case is not promising. It takes a large mold to form a one-piece pan gasket in gasket rubber. From now to the end of time, if every Studebaker V8 ever to need an oil pan gasket bought that one, the profit on it would most likely never equal the cost of the tooling.

Only slightly off topic and on a smaller scale, Clevite already had the tooling for Studebaker V8 bearings, but they dropped them from the catalog; just not enough volume to bother with. The tooling for many Packard V8 parts already exists, but the companies with the tooling won't make another run of bearings, pistons and several other hard parts. Just not enough volume to bother with.

                        Jack,

This brings up the question: Does Clevite have a large stock of bearings or have they complete the run and determined not enough volume. Should we start to grab hard parts while there are still parts available? I would hate to have a car go down and parts not available to bring it back.

All but the STD Size Clevite 77 Tri-Metal Rod Bearings are Gone, and ALL of the Main Bearings from our Studebaker Wholesaler Stock, but our "Other" Bearing Supplier, Federal Mogul still is selling the Standard Type Rods & Mains, in Std. thru .030 undersize.
