I am surprised that they did not pick up on the '53 Stude. Body "Scallop" like they did the Buick and the MG!

“Will not injure car paint. Washes off easily with aviation gasoline”.

        Yikes.

I remember that ad. That approach was a forerunner to Chrysler product mod tops and later patterned tops to go with plaid interiors (I owned a '73 Satellite Sebring with the plaid look.).

My 73 Satellite Sebring was all one color - electric blue. It was a company car, so no fancy vinyl top.

I owned four 1972 Satellites and two 1973 Satellites. One of the '73s had a regular/normal vinyl top. The other was the Spring Special model with plaid seats and the special top (that special model only came in two or three colors).

Gary, was it a Satellite Sebring Sundance as pictured? It has plaid interior.

No, the Sundance had what I would call a Southwestern pattern interior. The Spring Special (I do not know of any other name) had a true plaid in the interior. There was a low number of them. Mine came from out of the area. AFAIK, the local dealers sold a total of one.
