Hello, Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Bruce Sr. from Eastern Long Island, New York. I own a '62 Lark, V-8 with a 350 THM trans conversion that I have had for many years. Looking forward to learning more about Studebakers.

Welcome aboard Bruce! My first Studebaker was a '62 Lark four door I found sitting in a ladies yard when I was just finishing college in 1993 - was a great car and a lot of fun to work on and drive. There are a ton of people here with enough Studebaker information for fill several libraries so ask away and participate all you can. And some of us are visual learners, so don't forget to toss up some photos of you Lark!

Welcome, Bruce Sr. Have you joined the Studebaker Drivers Club yet? If not just click on the link near the top of this page. It will take you to their website where you can browse and join the club. There are lots of resources there and members receive a copy of Turning Wheels Magazine each month which is our award winning club publication filled with lots of articles, photos, technical information and club information. You can also search for the local chapter nearest to you and contact them. Joining a local chapter will plug you in to lots of other club members and expert advice. Many clubs even have a designated parts person to help you get the parts you need. Oh, and one more thing, we LOVE photos. So send us some photos of your Lark.

Good Morning and thanks for the welcome ! Sadly, the closest "local" chapter is about an hour plus from me. I have been to some of their meets, but it's a haul. I'll see if this picture of my Lark works.

Welcome and great photo. Except for the satellite dish betraying the era...the photo has a contemporary look for 1960s Long Island. Of course, I don't know if there was a color scheme like that offered on '62 Larks. But...I really like the paint job. First of all, much more practical than having the dark color on the top, and second...it really pops!

That building was originally an old plumbing shop with a wooden floor. The color scheme is the work of the Klos brothers at Ted's Auto Body. They told me it is Ermine white and Apache red.
